How to setup Github Backups in Backrightup



Welcome to Backrightup. Using the below guide you can get registered and have your first backups running in under 1 minute. To complete the optimum registration for Backrightup, its preferable to have

Google Chrome incognito window (or another browser with incognito facility)
Be logged in as an organizational owner to install the app. Read more about checking who your organizational owners are here
A service account is not required as the app maintains the relationship and token refresh requirements

Github setup


You install the Backrightup Github App for each user/organization you want to create backups for.

To install the app, you have 2 options:

If you are already logged into Backrightup (or registered for a Backrightup account)
If you are not registered yet with Backrightup

If you are already logged into Backrightup (or registered for a Backrightup account)


Browse to the choose app screen here. Click Github



Fill out the details required and click "Save & continue"
Choose your organization account (in our case "Backrightup here. Using your own user here will limit backups and may create access issues if the user leaves the org)



Choose "All repositories" and click "Install & authorize"



If you are not registered yet with Backrightup


Browse to the Backrightup app listed in the marketplace here. Click on "Install it for free"

Make sure your Organization is selected (in our case "Backrightup here. Using your own user here will limit backups and may create access issues if the user leaves the org) when installing.



Click on "Complete order and begin installation"



Choose your organization account (in our case "Backrightup here. Using your own user here will limit backups and may create access issues if the user leaves the org)



Click on "Authorize Backrightup"
